Standing Your Ground Introduction

1.      When you hear the words pressure, stress, and worries, what do you think about?

2.      List pressures, stresses and worries you have as a teenager.

3.      How do you handle the things you listed in question 2?

Read:  Romans 12:2

                1Corinthians 15:33-34

                John 14:27

                Philippians 4:6-7

4.      What does God say about your daily pressures, stresses and worries?

·         Have you ever had a really great day, with little to worry or stress

about, and you realize God provided that day?

Read: Psalms 48:1

This is what is known as your mountaintop experience! “At times like these it’s easy to stand your ground and the view couldn’t be better” (pg. 6).

However, there are the days when it seems like everything is hitting

you all at once.

These are the valleys in our lives. The times when we need to ask for

a little help. Those days we feel like the ground is shaking under our

feet. “But we’re not left alone in the quicksand” (pg. 6).

Read:  Psalms 121:1-2

Over the next several Sundays we will be discussing how God helps us Stand Our Ground in the valleys as well as on the mountaintops. “‘Take heart. Stand your ground. Trust the Lord to help you do it!’” (pg. 7).
